Sylvia Elder's Creative Literacy Share

Mrs. Jasper's class received a visit from their Cultural Community Ambassador, Mrs. Elder.  The students wrote alternate endings to the True Story of the Three Little Pigs.  Part of "Culturally Responsive Teaching" is allowing students to develop and explain their own perceptions about text.

Check out their viewpoints in the comments section.
Attention Mrs. Jasper's Students:  Tell me about Mrs. Elder's visit.

Mrs. Elder was very fun yesterday. First we talked about fairy tales, then we read the book and then we divided into groups and had to make a happy ending to the story. Most of them were very funny, but some were very sad.

Ms.Elder read us a book called the true story of the three little pigs. The true story of the three little pigs is about a wolf who needs some sugar for his grandmothers cake and the three little pigs won't give him any sugar so his allergies start to kick in and he sneezes on 2 little pigs house and then they are dead so he eats them. Then he spends the rest of his life in jail.

We thought that the story was kind of ridiculous for what his alibi was.a cup of sugar for his grandma,I mean what kind of a lie is that.
